PFS-220 / AUTOMOTIVE / BRAKE VALIDATION

Brake Pedal Force Sensors

Measure driver brake effort with a low-profile, quick-mount pedal force load cell. Specify the pedal envelope, peak load and readout before selecting a road-test configuration.

Envelope request

Requested target: Ø65.5 × 16.5 mm. Total installed height includes the mounting plate.

Mounting request

Request 58.0 mm B.C.D.; choose #6-32 or M4 explicitly. Thread versions are separate interfaces.

Signal-chain request

Request 700 Ω or a reviewed alternative bridge; sensitivity, excitation and cable schedule must match the readout.

Acceptance evidence

200–300% spike-overload and <0.5% eccentric-load error are design targets awaiting capacity-specific test evidence.

TEST PLAN / INTEGRATION

Define the installed measurement.

Brake-robot dynamic loading

Supply the force-time trace, actuator contact speed, mechanical stop and off-axis envelope. A static overload ratio alone does not establish impact or fatigue capability.

Road-test installation

Check pad width, rotation clearance, restraint and cable strain relief. Confirm unobstructed pedal return before a controlled test.

Brake-by-wire validation

Combine force with synchronized travel and the required vehicle channels. Identify the test trigger and filters in the acquisition plan.

INSTALLED ACCEPTANCE / EVIDENCE

Control the force path before comparing traces.

200–300% spike-overload and <0.5% eccentric-load error are design targets awaiting capacity-specific test evidence.

Request the capacity-specific drawing, sensor and readout configuration, calibration scope and acceptance procedure. Reference photographs and request targets do not replace those records.

PFS-220 / ENGINEERING ANSWERS

Resolve these questions before ordering.

Is a 1,500 N model a direct 300 lbf replacement?

No. 300 lbf is about 1,334 N. Capacity, output, mechanical geometry and calibration must each be reviewed.

Are 300% overload and <0.5% eccentric error confirmed?

They are requested design targets. Ask for the selected configuration’s safe / ultimate overload definitions, load duration and eccentric-load results.

ENGINEERING / REQUEST

Build the right
measurement chain.

Send your force range, pedal dimensions and acquisition requirements. Request a mounting drawing, CAD review and a complete sensor / readout quotation.

Replacing an existing sensor?

Include the exact part number, drawing revision, connector pinout and calibration requirements. Compatibility is reviewed per configuration.

Corporate procurement requests

Include your purchasing entity, PO requirements, destination and required invoice / calibration documents. Payment options, trade terms, freight and delivery are confirmed in the written quotation.
